Why it works
A better question than “What is everyone’s favorite?”
A book club ballot can over-reward a passionate minority when everyone is forced to choose only one favorite. It can also create extra administrative work when nominations arrive through email, text, and conversation.
Just Pick 1 treats nominations and acceptance as separate steps. Members can contribute ideas directly, then indicate every finalist they would genuinely be willing to read. The ranking makes compromise visible instead of hiding it behind a single-choice vote.

Common questions about book club voting.
Can every member add a nomination?
Yes. Participants can add options while the room is building its list, so the host does not need to transcribe everyone’s suggestions.
Can we search for books?
Yes. Book rooms include Google Books search so a nomination can be linked to the matching book record and its available details. Manual additions are still supported.
Can we organize books by something other than genre?
Yes. Categories are free-form, so a club could use length, theme, era, fiction/nonfiction, or any other grouping that helps the decision.
Can we reuse the list for every meeting?
Yes. After a completed selection, the host can use Start a New Round to create a fresh room with the same settings, categories, and books while leaving the old participants, votes, vetoes, and result behind.
